Google AdSense Revenue Sharing Program Converges Publishers To Earn Revenue...

adsense-man

AdSense revenue sharing program allows you to earn revenue for the content you contribute to a Google AdSense API (more on API in a second) partner's site.

Generally, the idea behind this AdSense revenue sharing program is to bring publishers together under a common website -- usually a website of a Google special partner reffered to as "Google AdSense API Partner".

This website is then used by the partner to publish content pages that are embedded with AdSense ads...

Mind you these contents are provided by participating publishers, who also hand over their AdSense IDs to the Partner to enable the placement of AdSense ads on these content pages...

Once these AdSense ads on the content pages are clicked, they generate income, which are in turn, shared between the participating publishers and the API Partners.

In other words, you use your Google AdSense ID to earn income...

Now, that you've gotten the 'feel' of this program ... let's return to API.

So What The 'Heck' Is API?!

Ok. Ok. I hear you screaming...

"What the heck is API?!"

It's an Application Programming Interface!

"What the heck is Application Programming Interface?!"

Relax, I'll explain ...

An application programming interface (API) is an interface that a software program implements in order to allow other software to interact with it.

In its simplest term, API allows Web communities to share content in an Open Architecture.

It allows these communities create open architecture for the purpose of sharing content and data between communities and applications.

In this way, content that is created in one place can be dynamically posted and/or updated in multiple locations on the web.

A vivid imagination of API in action is the sharing of photos from sites like Flickr and Photobucket to Social Network sites such as Facebook and MySpace.

Not only that, API allows content to be dynamically posted e.g. sharing of Comments made on Twitter to a Facebook account are enabled by Twitter and Facebook's APIs.

Add to that...API has also empowered video contents to be embedded on websites. And user information can now be shared from web communities to outside applications with Facebook Application platform as a key example...

It's this same API concept that Google has provided for its partners...to enable their users post content pages, blogs, video, pictures etc on their websites...

This provision by Google has empowered its partners to be able to converge willing publishers that are ready to submit contents, blogs, pictures, videos etc on their (partners') websites. Whereby these contents, blogs, videos are sprinkled with Adsense ads.

And once these AdSense ads are clicked on the Partners' websites...they generate income

Most of the times, these publishers must enroll in Google Adsense programs and assigned with Adsense IDs.

It's these IDs that the publishers submit to Google's API partners to enable them place snippets of AdSense ads on these media outlets.
